The Sophia Group values the power of the word. For some the word represents the word of God, for others it is simply speech. For The Sophia Group, the word is the notion that rational thought is only one aspect of knowledge and that the relatively under-valued or under-explored irrational creative elements of human thought and action are as important as reason. This is an idea central to the Surrealists, the Fauve painters and some contemporary artists. In the business world it is unheard of. The world of business clings to an exceptionally small notion of creativity and always within the profit motive.

The Sophia Group breaks this dynamic open with its site-specific endeavors that marry the corporate model with philosophy and the love of higher knowledge in quest of wisdom. This guiding notion of logos in our image, our deeds, our words, and our pictures is exemplified in our emphasis on human dignity, creativity, and political engagement in all of our corporate entities. Examples include our application of contemporary art and theory practices from non-linear photographic imagery to the affirmation of difference and the valuing of the unique properties of each territory we enter (erotica, the mediasphere, technology, film, and current-day Greek culture), to name a few.
